Terms of Service

Welcome to e-Salone! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the e-Salone school management platform operated by e-Salone ("we", "our", or "us").

By using e-Salone, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.

1. Who Can Use e-Salone

e-Salone is designed for:

• Schools: Primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions in Sierra Leone
• School Staff: Headteachers, proprietors, bursars, teachers, and administrators authorized by their school
• Parents/Guardians: To access information about their children's education
• Students: To access their own educational materials and information

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Schools are responsible for ensuring only authorized staff have access.

2. Free Trial & Subscription

Free Trial

• Every school gets one full term free to try e-Salone
• No payment information required during the trial
• Full access to all features during the trial
• At the end of the trial, you can choose to subscribe or walk away

Subscription Plans

Parent Access

Parents/guardians pay 2 SLE per family per month for portal access. This gives both parents and all their children full access to grades, attendance, and fee information.

3. Payment Terms

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or per term (school's choice)
• Payment is due within 14 days of invoice
• We accept bank transfer and mobile money (coming soon: Orange Money, Africell Money)
• Prices may change with 30 days notice

4. What You Can Do (Acceptable Use)

You can:

• Use e-Salone to manage your school's operations
• Store and manage student, staff, and parent information
• Generate reports for your school and government requirements
• Send SMS notifications to parents
• Export your data at any time

5. What You Cannot Do

You cannot:

• Share your login credentials with unauthorized people
• Use the platform for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to access other schools' data
• Use the SMS feature to send spam or non-school-related messages
• Reverse engineer, copy, or resell our software
• Upload harmful content, viruses, or malware

6. Your Data

• Your data belongs to you. We don't own your school's information.
• You can export all your data at any time
• We will never sell your data to third parties

7. Our Responsibilities

We commit to:

• Keeping the platform available and functional
• Protecting your data with industry-standard security
• Providing customer support via WhatsApp and email
• Giving you reasonable notice of any significant changes
• Assigning a dedicated account manager to help your school

8. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We may have:

• Scheduled maintenance: We'll notify you in advance (usually weekends/evenings)
• Unplanned outages: We'll work to restore service as quickly as possible

The offline features of e-Salone help ensure you can continue working even when internet is unavailable.

9. Cancellation

If You Want to Cancel

• You can cancel at any time with no penalty
• Contact us via WhatsApp or email to cancel
• You'll have 30 days to export your data after cancellation
• No refunds for partial months already paid

If We Need to Cancel

We may cancel your account if:

• You violate these Terms repeatedly
• Payment is overdue by more than 60 days
• We discontinue the service (with 90 days notice)

10. Limitation of Liability

While we work hard to provide a reliable service:

• e-Salone is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for data loss caused by your actions or factors outside our control
• Our total liability is limited to the fees you've paid us in the past 12 months
• We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or consequential losses

We recommend schools maintain their own backup of critical records.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. When we do:

• We'll notify you via email or through the platform
• Significant changes will have 30 days notice
• Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sierra Leone. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Sierra Leone.
